MY FAVOURITE BAND.

As Betty mentioned in her blog one of my favourite bands is The Smiths. I am very fond of rock music and different shapes of rock. I do not know a lot about music styles but at least I can distinguish between rock and non-rock ( or at least I hope I do so...). The Smiths, were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The band consisted of Morrissey ( lyrics + vocals), Johnny Marr (guitar), Andy Rourke (bass) and Mike Joyce (drums). Their music represented an alternative rock and they gained popularity by Morrissey's songs about alienation and loneliness and Marr's guitar-based complex melodies. Maybe I should tell you how I came across such "dinosaurs"? Well, it happened quite a long time ago, when I was in one of the fancy East End London's pubs with my Columbian friend Ramiro. As usually we were having a great conversation accompanied by couple of pints and suddenly I heard a song which I really liked but had no idea what it was. Fortunately it was coming from the jukebox so my friend found out for me what it was. The song was "This Charming Man" by The Smiths. I fell in love with the band straight away.I cannot say which song is my favourite but one of my bestiest is "There is a light that never goes out". If you do not enjoy the music I hope you will enjoy the lyrics which I just love!!!
